Lusk United AFC History

Lusk United AFC began in 1969 in the town of Lusk, County Dublin. The idea of forming a club came from a successful five-a-side competition organised by a group of locals who loved football. 

The club’s first home was at the ‘Ball Alley’ on Station Road before moving to its present home on Rathmore Road. Its facilities include a modern clubhouse, dressing rooms, a members’ bar, and a floodlit 11-a-side grass pitch. The club makes use of multiple pitches across Lusk, including Collie Maher Park, Orlynn Park, Chapel Farm, and Dun Emer.

Lusk United AFC is still going strong:

  • 2012: Named Amateur Football League Club of the Year.
  • 2019: Lusk United AFC celebrated its 50th anniversary.
  • 2022: Reached 1,000 members milestone.

Youth Development & Team Motto

Using their motto, “Work Hard, Have Fun”, Lusk United AFC aims to develop football skills and create an environment where players can grow and carry forward values of teamwork, respect and fair play.

The football club is home to over forty teams, from Under-8s through to adults, who compete in the NDSL, DDSL, MGL and AUL leagues. 

There are currently around 320 players across 19 teams, including 16 schoolboy/girl sides, three senior squads (one of which is an Over-35s team), and a thriving academy for 4–7-year-olds. Junior development is a cornerstone of the club’s identity, with two junior academies catering for young players.
