Leeds AFC Cork – Club History & Identity

Leeds AFC Cork was founded in 1986 by the Buckley family, who were avid Leeds United fans, hence the name. The club was established to provide a football team for the Ballyvolane, Dublin Hill, and surrounding areas. Over the years, Leeds AFC Cork has grown to become one of the most successful and well-known clubs in Cork, with approximately 300 members and an additional 100 involved in the underage academy.

The club is deeply rooted in the local community, offering a sporting outlet to youth in a safe and friendly environment. Leeds AFC Cork is committed to inclusivity, with a motto of “Football for All.” The club also supports COPE teams, providing opportunities for players with disabilities to enjoy the game and be part of the club
